ERP Technical Architect
H+K International is looking to hire a technical architect for their in-house ERP System, Orion. The role requires a talented, self-starter to join their IT team in supporting their implementation of the Orion ERP solution hosted on IBM iSeries.

Role Responsibilities:
Identify, recommend, implement, and support ERP solutions. Ensure alignment with technology roadmaps. Envision, navigate, and decide on future projects and enhancements.
Partner with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements.
Break down functional requirements into technical designs.
Produce detailed development plans, estimate work involved and resources required. Co-ordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of a given project.
Translate non-technical requirements into technical business requirements, including user acceptance testing criteria and success factors.
Ability to work systematically and logically to analyze solutions, resolve problems, identify causes, and anticipate implications.
Update and communicate architectural implications of risks, issues, dependencies, and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Assessing the feasibility of implementing technical solutions to achieve business outcomes, upgrading, migrating data and interfacing to existing legacy solutions.
Leading Orion ERP technical and functional team. Facilitate/ participate in the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution conflicts within and between projects or functional areas.
Utilize specialist knowledge of business processes and the Orion product suite to support the development and expansion of the solution footprint and meet business requirements.
Provide escalation support as required to the Orion Support team.
Collaborate and provide functional subject matter expertise and training to business users and technical team members.
Manage change management control and documentation.
Manage all technical migrations and updates on the Orion ERP solution or underlying IBM iSeries stack and servers.
Any other reasonable duties as required by leaders in the business.

Role Requirements
Bachelors degree in IT, computer science or equivalent demonstrated experience.
8+ years of professional experience in RPG development including CL, RPG (IV and Free-Format) and ILE
5+ years of technical team leadership experience
5+ years of hands-on solutions architecture experience designing solutions preferably on IBM iSeries.
Solution Architect Professional Certification (IASA, TOGAF) is a plus.
Knowledge of full application life cycle design tools, methodologies, and large enterprise deployment experience in complex business environments
Extensive experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, coding, code review, testing, deployment, maintenance).
Lifelong learner with excellent communication skills and an effective team player.
Strong background in multiple functional areas ideally within a Distribution or Manufacturing environment, including the following ERP modules; A/R, A/P, G/L, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, Reporting.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure and database administration.
Expert in DB2 and SQL.
Experience working with web services and interfacing AS400 with web applications is a plus.
Proficient in Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Exceptional problem-solving abilities to investigate, research and diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
The candidate should have good troubleshooting skills and enjoy working both independently and in a team environment.
Creativity and attention to detail
Hands-On experience in data conversion and data migration for ERP solutions.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make major decisions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A preparedness to take the initiative and a strong desire to achieve results.
Ability/Experience to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Should have experience in documenting business processes, preparing user manuals, and conducting end user training.
