As a Business Development Manager?s primary role is to seek, develop and support agent and agency rapport, relationship and growth. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a public speaking role and working in both business and social settings, while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
In this role, you will be comfortable attending business functions, conferences, lead FAM trips and in-person meetings. A passion for travel, resorts, hotels and all things tropical are a must! Candidate must have flexibility to travel internationally and valid credentials. You are the quintessential host at a luncheon or while escorting a group of clients abroad. You are tech savvy, using tools like Salesforce with ease and enjoy picture-perfect social media ? sharing visuals that excite your clients and make you and the company?s products memorable.
Job Description
The Business Development Manager will serve Vacation Express? retail trade channel of storefront travel agents and host agents based in the territory with energy and drive. This position will perform sales activities in a multistate territory, will collaborate closely with the Inside Sales Supervisor, the Marketing Department and will report directly to the VP of Sales (change to Director of Sales)
In this position, the individual will be responsible for analyzing a variety of sales metrics using Salesforce and other software. This is a full-time position and requires travel, sometimes with short notice both internationally and on some weekends.

Vacation Express is a leading US tour operator based in Atlanta, Georgia specializing in quality, affordable, all-inclusive vacation packages to over 30 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage relationships with agency owners, managers, frontline travel agents, meeting planners and other distributors in the territory
- Use KPIs to set, track and manage goals
- Source new leads and maintain relationships with key industry partners in the territory
- Diligent follow up with new and existing clients
- Negotiate and develop contracts with key industry partners in the territory each new fiscal year
- Analyze accounts, spot trends early and react appropriately
- Sound decision making with the ability to stay extremely organized
- Utilize data mapping to execute in-person sales calls in the territory
- Create new leads and service existing clients
- Understand and present client pace reports
- Utilize multiple data sources for calling campaigns and service existing clients
- Attend company-sponsored trade show events, visit agencies, host FAM trips, and other events related to sales functions
- Maintain a consistent and accelerated pace and daily CRM reporting
- Provide local market intelligence to the company
- Flexibility to work in territories that change from time to time and support other Business Development Managers in their areas
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3-5 Years sales experience, travel industry related preferred
- Ability to produce professional business correspondence
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- The ability to think quickly, anticipate needs and react with fairness
- Strong public speaking skills
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience, BA/BS preferred
- Driver's license and have a reliable vehicle
- Must pass drug screening and background check
- Have the means/credit to support at least one week of travel expenses
- High-speed Internet access at home when working from home office
- Smartphone with international capabilities to include: plan to utilize various apps and email (Vacation Express will make a monthly fixed contribution)
Technical Requirements
- Prior experience with Salesforce, preferably badged
- Advance experience with GoToWebinar & GoToMeeting
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products with expertise in Excel
- Experience working with Power Point and presentations
- Exceptional social media skills on all platforms
- Ability to learn new computer programs quickly
