Procurement Specialist Buyer

A Mexican company in the chemical industrial sector, specialized in the development and commercialization of products, is seeking a:
National & International Procurement Specialist
Position Objetive
Be responsible for ensuring that the company purchases and imports products at the best possible cost, within the required timelines and with full visibility throughout the process. The position will oversee domestic and international purchasing, import operations, domestic and international logistics, documentation verification, and comprehensive product costing by supplier and product, providing accurate and up-to-date cost information to support profitability and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Plan purchasing activities based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
Manage end-to-end import operations with international suppliers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
Identify, develop, and evaluate new domestic and international suppliers.
Prepare and update accurate product cost calculations.
Implement cost-reduction strategies and document achieved savings.
Centralize domestic and international purchasing activities across the group.
Monitor and coordinate domestic and international logistics operations.
Prepare and maintain complete physical and digital records for import and export transactions.
Collaborate with different departments to ensure compliance with purchasing processes and requirements.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Advanced Business/Technical English (required).
Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing and import operations within the chemical, plastics, rubber, or manufacturing industry.
Experience in international trade and import operations.
Knowledge of direct product costing.
Proven experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with CONTPAQi is a plus.
Availability for occasional business travel.

Monthly gross salary of MXN $25,000 (negotiable based on experience).
