We are looking for an Operational Purchaser to ensure the timely availability of materials by managing purchase orders, supplier communication, inventory levels, and logistics activities. This role works closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support production requirements, optimize inventory, resolve supply issues, and ensure efficient execution of procurement operations while meeting business and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchase order processing and ensure timely order fulfillment based on production requirements.
Maintain accurate data in SAP and update MRP planning reports and Access databases.
Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure material availability, optimize inventory levels, and support demand forecasting.
Monitor supplier returns and material rejections to prevent excess inventory and minimize waste.
Oversee component planning and inventory control with subcontracting suppliers.
Manage consignment stock components to ensure optimal inventory availability.
Partner with Strategic Purchasing to secure materials for mass production and new product launches in line with established planning parameters.
Control and allocate import transportation costs while coordinating inbound logistics to meet operational requirements.
Identify critical material shortages and coordinate cross-functional actions to mitigate risks, prevent production disruptions, and avoid extraordinary costs.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Bachelors degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering.
Proficiency in PC applications, especially SAP skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and proactive skills.
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of ISO 14001, with the ability to work in accordance with Health & Safety responsibilities, functions, and authority.
Understanding of IATF 16949 requirements for improving quality management systems in the automotive industry.
Advanced English level (written and spoken).
