Logistics Supplier Manager
Position Summary
The Logistics Supplier Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with logistics suppliers (carriers, 3PLs, freight forwarders) to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant transportation and logistics services. This role drives supplier performance, supports supply chain continuity, and ensures alignment with operational and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Management & Relationship Governance
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with logistics suppliers and service providers.
- Evaluate, select, and onboard logistics vendors based on cost, service level, and reliability.
- Act as the main interface between the company and logistics suppliers to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews and business performance meetings (QBRs).
2. Supplier Performance Management
- Define and track supplier KPIs (on-time delivery, cost, quality, service level).
- Monitor logistics supplier performance and implement corrective action plans when needed.
- Lead supplier audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure contract adherence and SLA compliance across all logistics providers.
3. Contracting & Commercial Management, (Not into the current scope).
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with logistics suppliers.
- Manage transportation budgets and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and ensure alignment with commercial and operational targets.
4. Logistics & Operations Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams (planning, operations, procurement) to align logistics capacity with demand.
- Ensure efficient inbound and outbound transportation flows across the supply chain.
- Monitor transportation schedules, delivery performance, and issue resolution (delays, damages, shortages).
- Support logistics network optimization and route efficiency initiatives.
5. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify logistics risks (capacity constraints, geopolitical issues, carrier disruptions) and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, trade laws, and safety standards. Maintain contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply and customer delivery.
6. Continuous Improvement & Strategy.
- Drive logistics cost reduction and service improvement projects.
- Analyze logistics data and trends to optimize supplier base and performance.
- Support digitalization initiatives (TMS, ERP, analytics tools) to improve visibility and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Engineering
5?10+ years of experience in logistics, supplier management, or transportation operations
Strong experience managing logistics providers (carriers, 3PLs, freight forwarders)
Experience in international logistics and global supplier environments preferred
What We Offer:
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 MXN per month
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 17:30 hrs.
