The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for employees in Mexico. This mid-level role ensures adherence to Mexican labor and tax regulations, maintains payroll records, and partners closely with HR and Finance. This role will also provide general HR support as needed. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using Workbeat, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English with U.S.-based stakeholders.
Process payroll for Mexico-based employees using Workbeat.
Ensure compliance with Mexican labor and tax regulations (ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, etc.).
Maintain accurate payroll records including salaries, bonuses, deductions, vacations, leaves, and terminations.
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, salary changes, and time-off tracking.
Prepare payroll reports for internal stakeholders and audits as needed.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially.
Ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met.
Provide administrative and operational support to HR as needed when payroll activities are not in cycle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Help to some recruitment tasks.
Help to different HR needs.
Required Qualifications
5-10 years of payroll experience in Mexico.
Hands-on experience using Workbeat (required).
Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
Strong working knowledge of Mexican payroll, labor, and tax regulations.
High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting multinational or U.S.-based companies.
Prior experience working closely with HR and Finance teams.
Familiarity with payroll audits and compliance reporting.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
